Megan Kiger
Meet the SCC Faculty
Megan Kiger is an Assistant Professor of English. She's spent the last decade writing, storytelling, building brand strategy, and creating digital content for institutions of public higher education, including the University of Delaware, Widener University and Rowan University. She spent time adjunct teaching composition courses through Rowan University's Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts' First-Year Writing program and returns to teach at Salem Community College as an alumna of the Class of 2011.
As part of Rowan University's Denise Gess Literary Awards, Megan earned the 2022 Edward J. Czwartacki First Prize for Fiction and the 2023 Pat B. Tweedie Third Prize for Creative Nonfiction. Her recent creative work can be found in Glassworks Editorial, Her View From Home, Eunoia Review and others.
Megan is an advocate for creative expression and utilizes her background in creative writing to inspire college-level writers to value and enjoy the art of effective communication. Since she was only nine years old, she's had a passion and curiosity for the many stories that exist around us—told and untold. So, she plans to empower students at Salem Community College to find confidence in their voices, written and otherwise!
