Karen Jones

Meet the SCC Faculty

Karen Jones is an Assistant Professor of Nursing. She is responsible for overseeing the Practical Nursing Program and helping to prepare students to take the NCLEX exam. Karen teaches several courses in the program such as lab and clinical. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she must maintain accreditation with the Board of Nursing, review and revise curriculum as needed to stay up to date with trends and standards in nursing. Karen’s former experience in nursing was caring for patients at the bed side in various acute care facilities. She has cared for medical-surgical patients and specialized in working with the hematology-oncology patient population. Karen serves on various committees at the college these committees include: Nursing Admissions, Nursing Advisory Board and the Vice President of the Academic Senate. Karen maintains her competency with her professional skills as a Registered Nurse by attending professional conferences and working per diem in a post-acute and long-term care facility. When not teaching or practicing at the bedside, Karen enjoys being a camp nurse for Malaga Camp in Vineland, NJ. Her other hobbies include: exercising, creating flower arrangements and interior design.
