The work of watercolor artist Maria Payer will be featured in the next edition of Salem County Art Express at Salem Community College.
Payer’s exhibit will kick off with a free reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 2 in the Gallery in Davidow Hall, 460 Hollywood Ave., Carneys Point.
Since 2014, the Pilesgrove resident has exhibited in several group shows, both open and juried. In 2017, her work was juried into both the New Jersey Watercolor Society (NJWCS) and Philadelphia Watercolor Society open exhibitions. A NJWCS board member, Payer received an award of excellence for her entry in the most recent NJWCS members show in Morristown. Her work is in private collections both in the United States and Europe.
In addition to the reception on Aug. 2, the public may visit the Gallery exhibit Aug. 6-9 and Aug. 13-15 during SCC’s normal summer operating hours – 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Guests may also visit the exhibit during Oakwood Summer Theatre’s performances of “Wizard of Oz” at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 3, 4, 10 and 11. Salem County Art Express is an initiative formed last year by the Salem County Art League, the Salem County Tourism Office and Salem Community College.
