The SCC Bookmobile’s next living-history program features Marietta Cooley with “Checkpoint Charlie – Growing up in Cold War Berlin” on Monday, April 22 at 7 p.m.
Cooley will discuss her experiences in West Berlin, which was controlled by four different countries during her childhood. Sponsored by the Friends of the SCC Bookmobile Library, this family-friendly, free event will be held in Donaghay Hall, Room DON-106, on Salem Community College’s campus at 460 Hollywood Ave. in Carneys Point. Guests should park in Lot D and enter through the double doors facing the parking lot.
Funding for the program is provided by the Salem County Cultural and Heritage Commission and the New Jersey Council for the Humanities’ Public Scholars Project speakers program.
