Salem County war heroes Robert Stanton, Edward Hassler, Fabio Sanservino, William Berglund and William Keeler (posthumous) were honored at the second annual Veterans Dinner on Nov. 8. More than 150 attended the event in the DuPont Field House, co-sponsored by Salem Community College, the SCC Foundation and the Salem County Veterans Services Office.
The Veterans Dinner was supported by Congressman Frank LoBiondo; Salem County Veterans Services Director Joe Hannagan; Patrick Hassler (VFW Post 253, Salem); Rhonda Gage, who performed the National Anthem; and the SCVTS Air Force Junior ROTC Cadet Color Guard.
“We appreciate the event sponsors – Atlantic City Electric, Memorial Hospital of Salem County, Merion Gardens, PSEG Nuclear and the Third District Legislators,” said Ceil Smith, Executive Director of the SCC Foundation. “Special thanks to all who bought tickets for our veterans to attend the dinner, including table sponsors Franklin Bank and Matt Hassler.
“We salute all veterans and thank them for their service and sacrifices,” said Smith.
