Salem Mighty Oaks Athletics is seeking qualified women student-athletes to compete for their women’s athletic teams in cross country, soccer, basketball and softball. The teams compete in Division II of the Garden State Athletic Conference in Region 19 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
The scholarships that are offered to qualified student-athletes are in the form of partial tuition waiver scholarships, and are available for all four women’s teams.
“These scholarships present a great opportunity to fortify women’s athletics in Salem County and the surrounding areas,” said SCC President Dr. Michael R. Gorman.
Director of Athletics Dr. Bob Bunnell said scholarships should appeal to women student-athletes who choose to stay close to home during the first two years of their college career. “We hope that by offering some additional financial assistance to potential women student-athletes, we can help to somewhat lessen the financial burden of attending college, and, at the same time, encourage them to come and compete in our Mighty Oaks athletics programs.
In-state and out-of-state female student-athletes are eligible for the partial scholarships. To be considered, interested students must start by applying for admission and completing the FAFSA.
