Have you always wanted to learn how to create a Web page? Do you know the basics of web design, but you want to take your skills to the next level? If so, Salem Community College’s Web Page Design certificate program is ideal for you!
Program Information
The program offers a foundation in interactive media, Web page design and desktop publishing. Program graduates will be capable of editing images, utilizing multimedia techniques and creating aesthetically engaging page designs.
Courses include:
• Digital Image Editing • Desktop Publishing
• Web Page Design • Animation for the Web • Digital Video Editing
Career Outlook
Graphic designers with Web site design and animation experience will especially be needed as demand increases for design projects for interactive media—Web sites, mobile phones and other technology, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2010-2011 Edition.
Employment of graphic designers is expected to grow 13 percent, as fast as the average for all occupations through 2018, according to the BLS, with keen competition expected for available positions. Individuals with Web site design and animation experience will have the best opportunities. The BLS states a bachelor's degree in graphic design is usually required for most entry-level and advanced graphic design positions.
