Student Life - Student Organizations

The College recognizes a variety of clubs and organizations designed to meet student interests. Those interested in forming a club or planning an activity should contact the Enrollment Services Specialist/Student Activities Coordinator in Student Services at (856) 351-2702 for information on policies and procedures for student organizations.

Chi Alpha Epsilon

Chi Alpha Epsilon is the national honor society that recognizes the academic achievement of SCC students who are admitted into the EOF program or who participate in the developmental curriculum of the Center for Student Success. SCC’s Delta Lambda Chapter of Chi Alpha Epsilon -- recognized a model chapter by the honor society’s founder in 2006 -- promotes continued high academic standards, provides leadership opportunities and fosters communication among its members and the College community. Criminal Justice Club

The Criminal Justice Club is open to all students interested in law enforcement. Trips and activities are planned, based on student interest. For more information, call (856) 351-2646.

Drama Club

The Drama Club encourages all students interested in theater production and acting. Short skits and lunchtime entertainment have been performed. For more information, call (856) 351-2750.

EOF Club

The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Club is open to all students. The club provides students with the opportunity to expand their educational, cultural and professional experiences. Multicultural Club

The Multicultural Club (U.N.O.) encourages students of all backgrounds to learn from each other. Among the club's goals are:

  • promoting cross-cultural communication;
  • providing a forum for sharing an awareness of cultural differences and similarities, and

Nursing Club

Oak Singers

The Oak Singers is a community chorale open to all students and community members. Winter holiday and spring concerts are performed annually. Call (856) 351-2626.

Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges. Phi Theta Kappa's purpose is to recognize and promote academic achievement among students, provide opportunities for leadership training, encourage personal growth, and foster fellowship among members and associates. Phi Theta Kappa sponsors service projects benefiting the College and the community. Membership, based on grade point average, is by invitation. Call (856) 351-2614.

Salem Glass Society

The Salem Glass Society is open to all students with an interest in the art of glassblowing. Members promote glass art by providing demonstrations and exhibits to the College community. Students also strive to improve their own creative skills through seminars and workshops. Members of the group also participate in Salem Community College’s annual International Flameworking Conference, which brings prominent glass artists to campus. Call (856) 351-2702.

Student Assembly

The Student Assembly is a group of concerned students representing a variety of student cohorts including clubs, athletes and special-interest groups. The Assembly meets once a month to discuss student issues and activities. All students are invited to become a member of the Assembly.
