CARES Act Emergency Funding
The United States Department of Education announced the specific funding that has been allocated to every postsecondary institution in the nation through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act recently passed by Congress and signed into law. Salem Community College will receive funds under the CARES Act to provide emergency grants to students. The Academic Support Lab (ASL) offers FREE academic support and tutoring for all students.

Need help getting enrolled at SCC?
Our Admissions Office is open and offering virtual services at this time. If you need assistance with applying to SCC, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can apply online at www.salemcc.edu/apply for the 2020 summer sessions and fall semester, and request your official high school and college transcripts to be sent to SCC.
If placement is needed, Accuplacer testing will resume when the College reopens. Admissions staff will contact students by email to advise on their next steps.

Advisors are your support system at SCC. We can assist you with registration, transfer, and campus referrals. We recognize that this is a challenging time and the SCC advising team will be with you every step of the way to support you remotely. Need assistance as a student athlete? Would you like to play a sport at SCC?
SCC Mighty Oaks Athletics has cancelled its spring 2020 season.
For the 2020-21 season, SCC has varsity programs in men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, baseball and softball. To get information on these teams, including how to become a member of a team, contact the Athletics Department at firstname.lastname@example.org, and someone will be in touch with you. Please indicate which team you are interested in when you contact us.
Need something from the bookstore?
At this time, the SCC Barnes & Noble campus store is closed to the public until further notice. The bookstore will continue to take orders online for delivery; however, shipping may be delayed. Any purchases returned via shipment to our stores, will be processed when the stores reopen.

Canvas and Online Learning
Need help with Canvas?
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SCC courses will remain remote through the end of the 2020 spring semester. SCC uses a Learning Management System (LMS) called Canvas for all web enabled courses.

The Career Services Office will provide virtual meetings for career exploration, resume building, and job search while the College is closed.

Disability Support Services
If you are experiencing learning-related issues that you believe are interfering with your ability to perform in this online format, email Mr. Cizek in Disability Support Services at firstname.lastname@example.org. Mr. Cizek will contact you to identify the issues you are experiencing and assist you with solutions to address the obstacles getting in your way.
Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF)
EOF staff are offering virtual individual advising sessions to assist with summer and fall registration (telephone, Zoom video meetings). EOF staff are currently assisting students to access resources: electronics, school supplies, department contacts and state wide information, as well as group check-ins to offer solutions, discuss issues and feel connected.

The FAFSA filing deadline for HESAA has been extended to June 1, 2020.
The deadline to apply for scholarships through Award Spring is June 29,2020.
Students who will be starting in summer 2020 must complete the 2019-2020 FAFSA.
Students who will be starting in fall 2020 must complete the 2020-2021 FAFSA.

Title IX & Harassment Protection
Title IX protection remains in effect. Accordingly, the College’s Title IX policy to provide a work and academic environment free of sexual harassment, online harassment and cyberbullying will be enforced.

Information Technology (IT Helpdesk)

Tuition scholarships are available to individuals who plan to enroll at SCC, as well as currently enrolled students. Scholarships are awarded for academic excellence, financial need and other designated reasons.
