Pharmacy Technician

Program Information

Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists with pill-counting, bottle-labeling and verifying insurance information, as well as additional clerical tasks. We will provide you with all of the education and practical experience you will need in basic pharmacology, human biology, medical terminology and ethical practices to be ready to work as a pharmacy technician as soon as you finish the program. The Pharmacy Technician program also will prepare you to take the national certification exam for pharmacy technicians, which will increase your earning potential.

Pharmacy technician employment is expanding much faster than average at 32 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This expansion will be sustained due to the aging of the U.S. population over the next several years. Pharmacy technicians earn a median salary of $26,720. Earnings are generally higher for certified pharmacy technicians.
