Personal Trainer

Do you enjoy working out and inspiring others to attain their physical fitness goals? If so, you may be the ideal candidate for the Personal Trainer certificate program at Salem Community College.
Program Information
We will prepare you for your career as a personal trainer by teaching you the fundamentals of health and exercise science, and how to utilize those concepts to help your clients reach their fullest physical potential. Upon completing the program, you will be prepared to take the national certification exam for personal trainers. As a personal trainer, you may work in a health club, gym or in homes. Your clients may be professional and amateur athletes as well as others who need your expertise to become healthier.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of physical training is growing by 29 percent, which is much faster than the national average. The median salary earned by personal trainers is $27,680 and the top 10 percent earn $58,990. The mean average salary for personal trainers in New Jersey is the fifth highest in the nation at $39,730.
