Campus Computer Access

Computers are available for use by students at several locations on campus.  Laptop computers are available for use within the library located in Donaghay Hall. Check with the front desk for availability.  Desktop computers are also in the computer labs adjacent to the library in rooms D-101 and D-104.  Check with the library for the current operating hours.

Computers for instructional use are located in many Salem Community College Classrooms

Network Log-In Procedures - Campus Computers

Registered students must use their SCCEDNET user name and password to log in to the network. Your user name is your ten-digit college ID#. Your ten-digit college ID# can be found on bottom left of your College ID card. (If you have forgotten your college ID# or have not been issued an ID card, contact Student Affairs for assistance.)

Note: the ID# number on cards issued prior to the Summer 2007 is no longer valid and will not work. If your student ID card was issued prior to the Summer 2007 session, contact Student Affairs for a replacement.

When logging in for the first time:

  • Enter your college ID# in the User Name field
  • Enter “Password1” with a capitol “P” and the rest lowercase as your password.  (Do not use the quotes.)
  • Select "SCCEDNET" from the dropdown box
  • Click "OK"
  • A dialogue box will appear saying you are required to change your password:
  • Click "OK"

On the following screen:

  • For the Old Password enter “Password1” with a capitol “P” and the rest lowercase. (Do not use the quotes.)
  • Enter a New Password of your choosing.  Passwords must be between at least 6 characters long and contain one capitol letter, one lowercase letter and one number and must not contain your first or last name.  Special characters are ok.
  • Confirm the New Password by typing it again.
  • Click "OK"

Don't forget your new password! Once your password change has been accepted, your new password will be required every time you log on.

Printing

The library, computer labs and several classrooms have printers available.  Printing charges are $0.07 per page for black and white and $0.30 per page for color. Students with accounts on the Salem Community College network receive a printing credit of $10 per term.  Printing charges are deducted automatically.  Additional printing credit may be purchased in increments of $5 at the Cettei Library.  Printing credits are non-refundable non-transferable and cannot be applied to any charges other than printing.  Printing credits do not carry over terms.

Wireless Internet Access

Access points for the SCC open wireless network are located in selected areas on the Carneys Point campus. All registered students can connect using their SCCEDNET user name and password.  Please note, when connected to the wireless network you will not have access to your SCCEDNET home folder or to campus printers.
