  1. Where can I get the nursing information booklet?
    • All students must attend a Nursing Information Session (NIS) to receive a copy of the booklet and have their checklist initialed as proof of attendance. However, the booklet is available to view online.
  2. Where can I find the admissions rubric?
    • The nursing admissions rubric for both PN and ADN students are available to view online, in the nursing information booklet.
  3. Are C’s accepted to transfer into the nursing program?
    • No. Only grades of C+ or higher are accepted.
  4. When should I take the nurse admission assessment test (A2)?
    • To do your best, you should only attempt to take the exam after completing remedial coursework for your program.
  5. Do you accept any other admission exam other than the A2?
    • No. Only the A2 is accepted.

  6. Must I take the exam at SCC?
    • It is recommended that you take the A2 at SCC, but it is not required. You must make sure that the exam you plan to take has the same reading and mathematics content required at SCC.
  7. May I transfer an A2 score from another school?
    • Yes, as long as the test has the required content and was taken within the past 2 years.
  8. May I add to the packet once it has been submitted?
    • No.
  9. May I request copies of my packet for resubmission?
    • No. You may request to have your packet returned to you, after the admissions deadline.
  10. Why must I submit an official high school transcript?
    • High school transcripts or proof of a GED is a requirement to qualify as an applicant according to statute NJBON 45:11-26 of the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.
  11. What courses have expiration dates?
    • Statistics – 10 years
    • Anatomy and Physiology I – 5 years
    • Anatomy and Physiology II – 5 years
    • Microbiology – 5 years
    • Computer Applications – 5 years
  12. If I want to test out of any coursework, what is available?
    • CLEP
    • Excelsior
