Shaqui Coppage Reaches 1,000th Career Point
Salem Community College sophomore Shaqui Coppage of Bridgeton NJ. reached 1,000 career points in the win over Region XIX rival County College of Morris on Feb. 6.
Carneys Point, NJ --Salem Community College sophomore Shaqui Coppage of Bridgeton NJ. reached 1,000 career points in the win over Region XIX rival County College of Morris on Feb. 6th, 2014. The Salem High School graduate scored 23 points in the win, reaching the 1000 point milestone in just 45 games. Through Feb. 6, Coppage is amongst the top fifteen in several NJCAA Division II women’s basketball statistical categories. Shaqui is currently 5th in NJCAA Division II women’s basketball in scoring averaging 21.8points per game this season, 14th in rebounds with 11.6, 6th in assists, and 7th in steals. This milestone is even more significant as Coppage leads the Lady Oaks on a potential playoff push. With one more region win the Lady Oaks will have secured a playoff spot in this year’s Region XIX Tournament. Coppage, a Liberal Arts major, also was named Woman of the Year for Salem Community College. The ceremony, held at Seton Hall University recognizes one female student athlete from each two year and four year institution in the state.
