Dorothy Hall honored as 2018 Woman of Achievement

Dorothy Hall, chair of the SCC Board of Trustees, was honored as a 2018 Salem County Woman of Achievement at a ceremony on April 7 at Centerton Country Club.  She has served in many leadership positions during her 19 years on the Board and led two successful presidential searches.

The Salem Community College Foundation and Franklin Bank will present The Glass Ball on Friday, April 27.

The Glass Ball will run from 5:30 until 10 p.m. in Davidow Hall, 460 Hollywood Ave., Carneys Point.  Dress is business casual.

SCC student Karina Escobar enjoyed a unique experience on April 3.  During a public budget hearing at Rowan University, she addressed the New Jersey Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee.

Science Fair attracts more than 350 young scientists

Salem County students showed off their high level of scientific research and design at the 29th annual Chambers Works Salem County Science Fair. Held on March 2 at Salem Community College, the Science Fair showcased the work of more than 350 students in grades 5-12 -- future leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

Salem Community College’s Howard Valentine and other musicians will be featured in “History of the Blues – Open Jam” on Friday, March 23. 

This free, family-friendly experience will begin at 7 p.m. in Donaghay Hall, Room DON-106.  Parking is available in Lot D.

The SCC Bookmobile’s next living-history program features the program “Martin Luther King, Jr.: A Man of Conscience” on Friday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. in partnership with American Historical Theatre.  King will be portrayed by South Jersey-based actor Keith Henley.
