SCC honors Bermudez for college service

Salem Community College Class of 2014 graduate Sonia Bermudez was honored with the Peter B. Contini College Service Achievement Award at Commencement.

Among Bermudez’s many accomplishments, she gave an inspiring speech at the SCC Educational Opportunity Fund spring banquet, helped at the diversity luncheon and graduation fair, and volunteered at the SCC Foundation’s Gala benefitting the College’s scholarship fund.

The Carneys Point resident was inducted into the Chi Alpha Epsilon honor society and earned the academic achievement award from the New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund.

The College Service Achievement Award is presented annually to a graduating student who addresses College issues, displays school spirit, and is active in campus clubs and activities.  The award honors President Emeritus Dr. Peter B. Contini.
