SCC Board welcomes two new members
The Salem Community College Board of Trustees recently welcomed two new members.
SCC graduate R. Matthew Richards (pictured, right) joined the Board of Trustees in November. The Elmer resident is Staff Safety Engineer with Paulsboro Refining Company, LLC, and is President of the Delaware Valley Safety Council. He is a member of the Elmer Fire Dept. and Elmer Ambulance Corps. In May, SCC honored Richards as Distinguished Alumnus.
Dr. Robert C. Carter was sworn in on December 12. The Pennsville resident served for 26 years in the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Captain. Afterwards, he held administrative positions, including Director of Grants and Contract Services, at New Jersey Institute of Technology until retiring in 2006. Active in the community, he is an educator for the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation, a volunteer for the Salem County Humane Society and a trumpet player in the Salem American Legion Band.
