Laura Strickland has joined Salem Community College as Director of Student Retention.

Since 2012, Strickland was admissions coordinator for Laurel Springs School, operated by Nobel Learning Communities, in West Chester, Pa.  Previously, she served as admissions officer for Strayer University in Springfield, Pa., and site manager and substitute teacher in the Allentown School District.

“Laura brings over 10 years of diverse experience in education to this new position,” said President Joan M. Baillie.  “We are excited that she has joined us.”

Strickland will work with campus departments to develop and implement a comprehensive, coordinated student-retention program.  She supervises the Educational Opportunity Fund staff and part-time advisors, instructional aides and tutors.

A resident of Brookhaven, Pa., Strickland holds a master of science in higher education, specializing in leadership for student success, from Walden University, and a bachelor’s degree in English from Kutztown University.
