SCC Announces Student-Athletes of the Month for January
Jasmine Foster and Andre Smith have been named Salem Community College’s Student-Athletes of the Month for January.
Carneys Point Twp., N.J. –Jasmine Foster and Andre Smith have been named Salem Community College’s Student-Athletes of the Month for January. Foster, a freshman for this year’s Lady Oaks has been a great addition. She is currently averaging 8.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Foster had a complete game vs. Lackawanna who currently sits in first place in the region, contributing 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists as the Lady Oaks took down the Falcons 66-64. Jasmine attended Glasgow High School and resides in Wilmington, DE. Smith, a sophomore point guard for this year’s Oaks had a break out month in January. He averaged 12.4 point per game and scored a career high 26 points vs. Lackawanna. Smith has also been a tenacious defender for the Oaks and currently leads the team in steals.Andre attended A.I Dupont School and resides in Wilmington, DE. In addition to their success on the court, both Andre and Jasmine recently volunteered their time with the rest of the men and women’s basketball team at the First Lego League Competition which was held at Salem Community College on January 11th. The Lego League competition is a robotics program for 9 to 12 year olds which is designed to get children excited about science and technology.
