Program Information
Salem Community College's certificate program in Medical Coding will prepare you for a broad range of jobs in hospitals or doctors' offices. In just two full-time semesters, you will learn computer skills, medical and pharmaceutical terminology, and basic human biology.
Career Outlook
You're in the right state to begin a career in medical coding. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), New Jersey health information technicians earn a higher mean salary -- $42,600 -- than technicians in any other state. Additionally, both Camden, N.J. and Newark, N.J. are among the five highest-paying metropolitan areas for this career in the nation!
