Glass: Applied Craft & Design
The Glass: Applied Craft & Design program embraces an approach to design rooted in the history and culture of making. The program -- in which design, collaboration, community and creative expression play an integral part -- allows students to see their work develop from initial idea to finished product, under technical and creative guidance.
Scientific Glass Technology
The only Associate in Applied Science degree program of its kind in the nation, Scientific Glass Technology (SGT) introduces students to the necessary skills and techniques to construct scientific glass apparatus for university laboratories, industrial research and production.
Future students
SCC students value good craftsmanship and a strong work ethic, and share a love for glass. Individuals of varying backgrounds enroll at SCC either to master a skill or pursue a career, and often “find” themselves during the process.
Upon graduation, students often realize that their experiences far exceed their expectations. Graduates should know that through the assistance of willing faculty and the support of their fellow students and the glass community, they will acquire the necessary tools for future success.
