Financial Aid

SCC Scholarships

Tuition scholarships are available to individuals who plan to enroll at SCC, as well as currently enrolled students. Scholarships are awarded for academic excellence, financial need, athletics and other designated reasons. Applications are available from Student Services and should be submitted by April 30 for consideration for the following year. Applications are then reviewed and designated by a committee.

This section acquaints students and others with the anticipated scholarships available to those attending or planning to attend Salem Community College. The scholarships are listed by specialty and name, and, in most cases, include the following:

  • the amount,
  • the primary criteria for selection and
  • the application process.

All applications are due by April 30 of each year.

Scholarship recipients will be notified beginning July 2.

Winning a scholarship is an honor and identifies the recipient as an SCC Scholar. In accepting the award, the student agrees to participate in SCC Scholar meetings once a semester, meet with a scholarship advisor periodically during the semester, and represent the College at community functions once or twice a year.

For further information on financial aid planning and other types of awards, please refer to SCC’s “How to Pay for College” brochure.

Students applying for SCC scholarships must complete an application for financial aid and receive notification of the financial award amount before a scholarship can be awarded. This process will ensure that a greater number of students will receive a financial aid award, a scholarship award, or both.
