Salem Community College welcomes the public to the Samuel H. Jones Glass Education Center on Sunday, December 9th for an afternoon of glass.
The SCC’s Glass Club’s sale will feature handmade glass including pumpkins, flowers, jewelry, vases and paperweights from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the Glass Education Center and the sale is free. While visiting the center, guests may check out the studio and see glassmaking in action.
Also on December 9th, the glass center will be running several hands on workshops. No glass experience is necessary, but please note minimum age requirements.
Fused Glass Ornaments*, 1.5 hour session from 12:30pm-2:00pm, or 2:30pm-4:00pm, $40.00 per person- Participants will create their beautiful fused glass ornaments to display on their tree or in a window by layering pieces of flat glass and enamels and heating them in a kiln. Ages 4 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Flameworked Icicles, 3 hour session from 1pm-4pm, $55.00 per person- Attendees use heat, gravity and simple tools to create glass icicles that can be transformed into pendants and ornaments. Ages 10 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Blown Glass Ornaments, 1.5 hour sessions between 12:30pm-2:00pm, or 2:30pm-4pm, $65.00- Participants will create beautiful blown glass ornaments from the furnace in our glassblowing studio! Ages 14 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
(*Due to the process, items will need to be picked up at a later date, or can be shipped for an additional fee.)

Since seating is limited, early registration is highly encouraged.
*All of our classes are subject to a minimum enrollment policy. In the event that we do not meet our minimum enrollment for a course we will refund your purchase. Salem Community College is not responsible for non-refundable travel expenses. Students will be notified no later than 45 days prior to their class start date if their workshop is subject to cancellation. There is always a chance, due to unforeseen circumstances that a class may be cancelled unexpectedly. In these instances as well, refunds on registration will be issued, and Salem Community College will not be responsible for non-refundable travel expenses.
