6 Description:
Includes three major areas of focus. The mental health focus is on patient psychological needs and skilled communication. The maternal-child focus includes the nursing care from the antepartum to the postpartum period. The care of children from infancy through adolescence also is included. Content-specific medications are reviewed. In addition, tips for successfully taking the NCLEX-PN test are included, along with computer-assisted testing (CAT). Students are required to pass the HESI comprehensive exam in order to pass the course.
Prerequisite:
Completion of HLH 170, HLH 178 and HLH 179 with grade of 78% or C+ or higher
