Skills for Success

Introduces students in developmental education to the active learning skills necessary for success in college-level work. The course also helps students utilize academic and student support resources, enables them to balance college and personal demands through time management and planning, and helps students recognize the importance of physical and mental health in achieving success. Particular attention is given to survival skills that students in developmental education need to succeed in college. These skills include consistent attendance, preparation for class, active participation in class, successful test and quiz preparation, and adequate preparation for special assignments.
