Examines the influence of language on human thought and behavior. Specifically, students investigate the effects the use of language has on people’s perceptions of their environment, their relationships and themselves. Students critically view how language is used both to reflect and to shape culture, including the semantic environment of politics, advertising, art and entertainment.
