Provides an overview to fire protection including the philosophy, history, organization and function of fire protection/service. Students learn fire loss analysis, laws and regulations affecting the fire service, fire service nomenclature, specific fire protection functions, and basic chemistry and
physics. The class introduces students to fire protection systems and fire strategy tactics. Students also explore career opportunities in fire protection and related fields.
