Description: 
1:0:3 Provides students an opportunity to integrate classroom theory and knowledge with practices of the criminal justice system or social services agencies. The course is designed to promote professional development and expose students to the real world of work in a professional environment. Specifically, students are taught what a career in law enforcement demands, what students need to bring to the profession, and how a student may begin a career. Students meet for a one-hour seminar each week and must complete at least 90 work hours at an assigned internship placement. Student internship placement may include municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies; courts; social service; and commercial establishments.
Prerequisite: 
CRJ112 or CRJ208 with a grade of C or higher, successful completion of at least 40 college credits, and approval from Dean of Academic Affairs. A background check also may be required for placement at some agencies.
