Is an introductory course to diagnostic and procedural coding. Topics include practical application of coding patient’s records. The course is designed to enhance the student’s understanding of medical terminology along with exposure to diagnostic and procedural coding. Emphasis is placed on the proper use of CPT codes and the ICD-9-CM.
