Description: 
Teaches students the basic principles of chemistry, including basic atomic theory, chemical bonding, naming of inorganic compounds, units of measurement, use of dimensional analysis to convert from one unit to another, drawing and interpreting graphs, calculation of chemical quantities, describing solutions using various units of concentrations, interpreting chemical equations, and acids and bases. The course is taught by lecture, discussion, demonstrations, cooperative group problem solving, and manipulative lab practice.
