To be direct, we will finish the Spring Semester remotely as we have been doing since mid-March. All end-of-semester learning activities in all classes are to be completed in a virtual, online, or remote fashion. Everyone, and I mean everyone, has been working to make this function for our students. It is a daunting challenge, and not the perfect scenario, but we are going to prevail in this time of COVID-19 crisis.
Commencement is being moved from May 20th to June 30th. Diplomas, certificates and transcripts can be available on May 20th and we will have more information about that as the date gets closer.
Essentially, we wanted to let everyone know, for planning purposes, that we are finishing the semester remotely. Our primary goal is to keep you safe. While we may get the “all clear” signal prior to the last few weeks of classes, we believe it is more practical to have everyone plan on finishing the semester online, virtually, or remotely. Now students, faculty and staff can plan accordingly.
We will await the Governor’s directive as to when the staff can repopulate the campus. For the time being, everyone should shelter in place, wash your hands, and pray for those who have been afflicted with the virus and its ramifications.
May you and yours remain safe and healthy.
